The MissionThe Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter Arts and Letters Committee works in conjunction with the National Arts and Letters Commission to provide artistic and cultural outlets for chapter members and our local communities. The Arts and Letters Committee is responsible for promoting a positive image of African Americans in our community through the mediums of music, dance, drama, and poetry. The Committee promotes worthwhile cultural endeavors and artists through events such as book signings, theater parties, concerts, and artist showcases. The Los Angeles Delta Choraliers are the musical voice of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. directed by Danellen Joseph. This musical group comprised of 50 Los Angeles Alumnae Chapter members, has consistently performed for over 50 years. Their signature event is the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Commemorative Concert jointly sponsored with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Chorus. On May 24, 2008, the Los Angeles Delta Choraliers celebrated 50 years of musical service. The
Los Angeles Delta Chimes, is a bell
chime group. Under the direction of Esther Cleaver, this group performs locally, regionally and nationally.
